Details: For many years I have been exploring the possibilities of joining an atonal, serial sound world with tonal principles. This stylistic trait is also at the basis of On Wings of an Echo of 1997. The theoretical works of George Perle are very important in the shaping of my “tonal” ideas here. In this work the theoretical ground includes cyclic sets that facilitate a combination of an atonal idioms together with basic traditional musical principles of Schenkerian prolongations that enable melodic connections and consonant-dissonant relationship.
