Hed Bahack

Hed Bahack Hed Bahack (b. 1994) is an Israeli composer currently living in Leipzig, Germany.
He completed his Bachelor degree of Composition under Hadas Pe’ery and Prof. Ruben Seroussi at the Tel Aviv University, Buchmann-Mehta School of Music, where he graduated “summa cum laude”. Currently he is studying towards a Master degree in Composition at the Leipzig Musik-Hochschule under Prof. Fabien Lévy.
His works have been performed by Ensemble Recherche, the Mivos Quartet, Ensemble Divertimento, Ensemble Meitar, the Israel Chamber Project, Hagai Yodan and others. He has participated in a number of composition masterclasses and workshops, including the International Young Composers Academy Ticino with Oscar Bianchi and Mauro Lanza, Ensemble Divertimento’s international workshop for young composers with Francesco Filiei and Ensemble Meitar’s CEME with Mauro Lanza and Unsuk-Chin. He was selected to participate at the 2022 Nodus residency in Les Coves de Vinromà, Spain, with the composer and percussionist David Moliner and the saxophonist Carlos Tena Gonzalez, and at the Remus Georgescu International Festival Composition Workshop with Francesdo Filiei in Timișoara, Romania.
Hed Bahack has received several prizes and awards, including the Sharett Scholarship of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation, 2nd prize at the Israeli Conservatoire composition competition, excellence scholarships for each of his student years at Tel Aviv University, 2nd prize at the New Vienna Symphony Competition, 3rd prize at the Franz Schubert Conservatory Competition, and he was a finalist at the AICF “Aviv” composition competition.
