Naama Perel

Naama Perel Born in Kiriat Ono ,Israel, 1984. Naama was raised with Yemenite music, as part of the prevailing atmosphere in the family. Perel studied guitar and wind instruments from an early age, studying diverse styles ranging from classical music to Jazz music. She graduated with Music major from Levinsky College receiving a B.Ed, in music education and choir conducting. In addition, she integrated studies from Rimon school learning Jazz and Contemporary music, orchestration and arrangement. During her studies, Perel worked with Dr Hagar Kadima and Rafi Kadishzon, and took part in writing many ensembles. She also performed in various concerts. After graduation, Perel studied composition and musical creation with Professor Oded Zehavi.

Naama Perel's music is influenced by ethnic melodies she heard when she was young, with self interpretation according to the diverse musical background and religious background she grew up on. Her music is inspired by composers such as Stravinsky and Berio. Her melodies move between the a-tonal and tonal world, crossing cultures, music styles and playing techniques. Naama places great importance in exposing others to music, therefore she works in many educational institutions as schools, conservatoriums and special need schools.
