Liran Mendelson was educated in Rosh HaAyin at "Begin" high school, where he specialized in performing jazz guitar with Yosi Levy and Ilan Benarie.
During his military service, he became interested in composition and began studying composition with Prof. Boaz Ben-Moshe, during which he received a scholarship to the "Rimon" school of Music.
Immediately after his military service, he began studying for a bachelor's degree in the Cross-Disciplinary Department at the Music Academy in Jerusalem.
During the degree he studied under the supervision of Prof. Ayal Adler and wrote Music compositions for various ensembles, including a symphony orchestra and chamber ensembles.
Immediately after completing his Bachelor's degree, he continued to study for a Master's degree in composition at the Music Academy in Jerusalem. During this degree he studied under the supervision of Dr. Ziv Cojocaru and wrote the following music compositions:
The "Shepherd" which won third place in the Kopytman competition for 2021.
"Workaholic" which won first place in the Kopytman competition for 2022.
"Chakalaka' which was performed by the SEV ensemble.
