Yardena Frydman

Yardena Frydman Born in 1950 in Tel Aviv.
Began studying piano at the age of five under Mrs. Miriam Silberman.
Graduated from the Rubin Academy of Music at Tel Aviv University in 1972.
Studied piano with Prof. Eliahu Rudiakov until 1969 and later with Prof. Edith Kraus until 1974.
Studied flute with Prof. Uri Toeplitz from 1977 to 1981.
From 1991 to 1995, studied in the Department of Musicology at Bar-Ilan University, Ramat Gan,
earning a Master’s degree in composition with distinction under the supervision of Prof. André
Hajdu and Prof. Gideon Levinson.
During her studies, and until 2007, she taught music theory, harmony, ear training, and solfège at
the university and served as the producer of the university’s noon concert series.
She continued her composition studies with Prof. Josef Bardanashvili.
From 2008 until her retirement in 2019, she taught music at Ben-Gurion High School in Petah
Tikva.
Co-author of Music Theory for High School Music Students, published under the auspices of the
Ministry of Education (MOE).
Until 2020, served as the chief matriculation examiner in composition for the MOE.
An active composer, her works have been performed in concerts in Israel and abroad and have
been broadcast on the radio.
