Gadi Yaar
Gadi Yaar is a graduate of the Karmiel Conservatory and the Dunie Weizman Conservatory. In the year following his military service and prior to beginning his academic studies, he studied composition privately with Mr. Eran Elbar. Between 2018 and 2022, he completed a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, specializing in composition, at the Orot Israel College (Givat Washington campus). During his studies, he specialized in composition under Dr. Ariel Lazarus and in recorder performance and pedagogy with Ms. Drora Brook. His degree also included a teaching certification. Alongside his academic studies, he received private instruction in recorder from Professor Regina Himmelbauer and in composition from Mr. Aharon Harlap.
He recently completed his Master’s degree in composition under the guidance of Professor Amnon Wolman at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance.
As a composer, Gadi has collaborated with prominent orchestras including the Tel Aviv Soloists Ensemble, the Richmond Symphony Orchestra (Vancouver, Canada), the Chilliwack Symphony Orchestra (Vancouver, Canada), and the Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion (the Israeli Opera Orchestra). His chamber and vocal music has been performed by leading musicians and singers such as harpist Lior Ouziel, bassoonist David Gru, guitarist Gideon Brettler, opera singer Goni Knaani, and conductors Gal Alterovich, Barak Tal, and Shay Schreiber, as well as members of the Haifa Symphony Orchestra.
As a music educator, Gadi teaches in several schools and conservatories across northern Israel, driven by a mission to foster a new generation of educated, broad-minded musicians. He also co-directs, alongside violist Emil Guseinov, the ensemble "The Voices of the Forest" which performs original music by Israeli composers and produces unique classical music projects.
